On Monday March 21st, 12 Buhach Colony FFA members attended the Central Region FFA State Degree Banquet at the Turlock Community Center. The individuals recognized must have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to the CA FFA Association and made significant accomplishments in their Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE’s). In addition, they must have also demonstrated superior leadership skills, attended a variety of FFA and community service activities and led a 40 minute agriculture related discussion or given a six minute prepared speech. Approximately 1,800 State FFA Degrees are handed out each year. That number represents approximately 3% of the California FFA Association membership, making it the State’s highest honor. Individuals meeting those requirements and receiving their State FFA Degree included: Jose Medina III, Sadie Montague, Madison Murphy, Ali Neely, Gianna Pareira, Madyson Paschall, Kristina Ramos, Stephanie Stewart, Camille Silvera, Austin Sherman, Mekenna Sherman and Tiffanie Underwood
Buhach Colony FFA recognitions did not end there. Mrs. Valerie VonAllman was also awarded the Merced/Mariposa Section FFA Outstanding Advisor award for the outstanding service provided to our agriculture students. She is instrumental in seeing that each of her students reach to their full potential, and makes sure that they each have the materials and support they need in order to be successful. She is an understanding educator and always holds a student’s best interest as a priority. She is also an effective motivator and friend to so many going the extra mile for others, asking nothing in return. In the time Mrs. VonAllman has spent sharing her knowledge and passion with FFA students may be measured in years, but the impact she has left on so many of her students lives definitely cannot. Mrs. VonAllman is definitely a Star Advisor, and we are proud she is our BC FFA Advisor.
Of the 200 students recognized from the Central Region, we are proud of the leadership displayed and are proud of our students for achieving great heights! We hope that you will all continue to serve and work toward receiving the highest degree one can attain in the program, and will receive the golden key of the American FFA Degree. You have served the program well so far and in turn will be the great leaders for the future of the agriculture industry. Congratulations on a job well done!
