The FFA program is all about helping others, and on October 11th, that is exactly what the FFA members of the Merced-Mariposa FFA section did. Its no secret that the residents in Northern California’s Wine Country are in need of help. Recently, the Ag teachers of northern and central California have been in contact, and decided to do something to help. In Santa Rosa and the surrounding areas, hundreds of buildings, including homes, businesses, schools, and even the school farm, containing all of the animals, have been burned to the ground. Advertising overnight and all day long, the schools of the Merced-Mariposa FFA section worked together to collect as many items as possibly to fill a trailer and haul it up to Santa Rosa to help those in need. It was an amazing way to help our FFA family members up north, and overall, it was a great turn out. With all of the items brought to and collected at the sectional Opening and Closing Ceremonies Contest, the advisors of the section worked together during the competition to get everything ready for transport.
