March 17th, 2018 marked the annual Merced College Field Day. At the event, Buhach had three teams competing, including the Livestock Judging Team, the Job Interview Team, and the Best Informed Greenhand Team. Overall, our teams had great success and received various awards. The members who competed for Livestock Judging this weekend were Shayla Silva, Faith Rouse, Brittany Perry, Abigail Douglas, and Tanner Torell. At the end of the competition, the team was awarded 2nd high team in beef, 5th high team in reasons, 8th high team overall, and Brittany Perry ended up placing 3rd high individual! As for Job Interview, the team placed 5th overall! The team consists of members Gabrielle Samaniego, Rachel Estrada, and Jacob Campos. The B.I.G. team, comprised of Darilyn Carranza, Emma Garcia, Emily Serrata, Maclain Oh, and Ashlyn Wielandt, placed 3rd out of all of the teams who competed! Additionally, several high individual awards were received; Mr. Oh got 7th high individual, and Ms. Serrata placed 5th! This served as the sectional competition for Best Informed Greenhand so we are looking forward to their success at the state level in May!
